Managing risk and uncertainty is at the heart of treasury’s role, but in an environment of substantial geopolitical risk on top of market volatility, this role has become more challenging than ever. Events over the past decade have demonstrated that modelling risk within ‘normal’ bands is no longer enough; rather, treasurers need to be prepared for both day-to-day volatility and the impact of extreme or unexpected political and market events. For large commodity purchasers, this can be particularly challenging given their exposure to both the commodity and currency markets. As a result, the ability to visualize risk and model the impact of hedging strategies has become more important than ever.
In this exclusive webinar, Mark O’Toole, Vice President of Treasury and Commodities Solutions at Openlink, Craig Jeffery, Managing Partner at Strategic Treasurer, and Helen Sanders, Editor at TMI, discuss some of treasurers’ risk management challenges and opportunities to overcome them, particularly amongst those dealing with both commodity and currency exposures.
